This year I had the oportunity to visit the pleasure gardens og Tivoli in Copenhagen for the first time during Christmas time. My best description of the atmosphere would be some fairy tale movie.
For those who don't know Tivoli Gardens, it's one of the oldest amusements parks and pleasure gardens in the world celebrating its 170 year anniversary this year. It's filled with different themed sub gardens such as the far- and middle east.
Each year they celebrate Christmas with a bunch of extra little nice stands selling different treats you would associate with Christmas such as hot chocolate or the "danish" Glögg. It's also decorated with astonishing realistic fake snow, which we haven't seen much of in Denmark again this year btw. The main feature, however, is the massive light decorations. This year they had dramatically increased the amount to over 1,000,000 different lights and a spectacular laser show that lastet 15 minutes showing Tchaikovskys The Nutcracker.
Even if you aren't so much into the rollercoasters, like me, it's absolutely a worth visit if you are in Copenhagen during Christmas anytime in the future.
